Associate attorney John Hansen assists community associations and their boards of directors in the management of their common interest development subdivisions. He provides assistance in day-to-day operational and general corporate matters, including the interpretation and enforcement of the restrictive covenants which apply to these communities. Mr. Hansen also assists clients with their estate planning and probate needs, with an emphasis on asset protection and enhancement.
Mr. Hansen is actively involved in the community association industry. He received his Juris Doctor in 2008 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law graduating with distinction. While in law school, Mr. Hansen clerked for District Judge Morrison C. England in the Eastern District of California. He also worked as a certified law student at the Pro Bono Tax Clinic representing disabled and low-income clients in their tax appeals to the Board of Equalization of California.
Before coming to Baydaline & Jacobsen, Mr. Hansen was a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Sacramento, prosecuting and trying misdemeanor offenses, and assisting with the prosecution of serious felonies.
Mr. Hansen graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He is admitted to the California State Bar.
